I do not believe that this is ethically okay because this model looked perfectly fine after all the make up she put on there was no reason to change the way she looked.
This is worst then others because they did not just take out dark marks "if any" on her face BUT they changed her as a person completely .... who ever it was that was on that bulletin board was no longer that model but another person with completely different trates. It alright to take out a dark spot or a pimple or slobber but not if your going to completely change that person appearance by a longer neck bigger eyes smaller forehead, bigger lips and so on. The difference between Fashion photography and journalism is that one tells the facts of the matter, and the other shows Partial facts. What they both in commen is that either way they are both going to have people believe what they see . ETHICAL OR NOT.

Photojournalism Ethic
Should a photojournalists ethics be absolute or situational? A photojournalist ethics should always be absolute unless its for something that is fun or get premishion to make it situational. Because in cases such as 9/11 with that photo with the man on the building looking lika an airplain about to hit is VERY unethical due to the viewers involved in the tragedy and are affected by something so Tragic. But somehthing not unethical is like taking pimpls of a models face or croping a picture..
Can a photo really capture truth? Yes a picture CAN really catpure the truth but only if the person behind the lense is willing to fallow the rules of ABSOLUTE!.. It is t his way because its something being captured at that very point and moment of time unless of course the photo was photo shoped and edited out or in images.
decisions have you made as a photographer that "edit" reality? I took a picture of a student her at school that had many dark spots on his face and had alot of scratches all over the photo.. i croped and edited out all the dark spots and all the scratches that i could find.
Why is it important that news organizations have clearly defined ethical standards? Because the news organizations viewers EXPECT THE TRUTH! not False FACTS.

Most Unethical..

This picture is most unethical...because this was a tragic time and I think its pretty bad to take reality of a tragic time away from this scene. The line shows up on the picture on the left and is taken away on the right. even if the press thought it would be funny about the line , people would take the situation of that picture more serious.

Manipulating
wisconsin university
University of Wisconsin-Madison as a racially diverse campus sent out brosures to those who wanted to apply to the university with a fake picture. The press with U W M being a white comunnity wanted to show that it was a racially diverse campus . So a man named Borrow decided to use a picture of a african american student from another campus to be place in the picture full of white americans at a football game. I believe that it was wrong for them to do that because that student really wasn't there in reality. If they really wanted an african american student that badley the should have just found a group of friends enjoying another day on that universities campus and photographed them.

Repeatition

Friday, August 31, 2007Ready for the FutureMalaysians in costume march in a parade commemorating 50 years of independence in Kuala Lumpur.
This photo because of the repeating helmets that the people are wearing give this photo repeatition. like in the previous photos again with the stacking rows makes all the differenc.

Sarkozy's speech to members of the ruling party UMP (Union for a Popular Movement) at the Elysée Palace.
This photo has alot of repeatition with the repeating rows of the red chairs that shows a repeating pattern within each row. The matter that there all in a strait line helps the repeatition of the photo.

Sugar Hill
What skills in addition to photography did Melanie Burford utilize to produce this slideshow?.... the photographer used techniques like lines, filling the frame , the rule of thirds and to in order to create that intencity of the over all project the photographer definatley captured Discusion to create ethos.
What was the effect (added power or meaning) of the multimedia effects of the slideshow.
I believe the over all effect of the slide show was the background voice over and the the song that the woman is singing . Also the photos that nicely symblizes with the music and voice over, especially since all the photos and voice of the slide show was all from SUGAR HILL! It gives it depth and meaning , ethos , Logos , pathos
From viewing all the other slide shows , I believe the most interesting process of multimedia is the over all story and how multimedia helps you build that nicely by fadeing each picture into the next photo that each tells a signifagent story , haveing the music in the background all at the same time.

Valerie first photo shoot experience
- What challenges did you encounter while trying to get close, capture real moments, and capture action or emotion? How did you deal with these?
- The chalenges that I encountered while trying to get close was to actually have the couarage to take picture of people I didn't know , trying to be out of there way of there work. With my photo shoot , I really didn't capture that much Action or emotion exept the fact that they wree all consintrateing on the computers and there projects trying to make there robots move. I dealt with this by getting to know some of the students that were working asking what it was they were doing and trying to accomplish.
- What technical aspects of photography (focus, exposure, composition) did you find yourself thinking about the most, and how did you make sure you did these correctly?
- I found myself thinking more about the focus and exposure other than composition , In order for me to do this correctly I made sure that my lense was in good foucus on my subjects that I was taking a picture of.
- Describe how you attempted to use at least one of the advanced composition techniques when you shot.
- the advanced composition techniques I tried to use was the techniques with lines. There was a tool set placed on the table were the students were working and I moved to were i could see the yellow lines of the lid of the tool box to create leading lines towards the students.

SPORTS SHOT

- :Focal length of lens - Shot with: Canon EOS-1D, EF 70-200mm
- Shutter Speed -, shot at 1/640 f/2.8 ..
- What is the effect of shooting at this shutter speed? The effect of the shooting at this shutter speed is to capture the ACTION that took place in the split secound...with the combination of his antisapated movement and the correct camera lens
- Aperture-Shot with: 2.8L IS USM zoom,
- What is the effect (Depth of field) of shooting at this aperture? Since the only focuse in this picture is the actuall football player in the air... being that the rest including the background is out of focuse the apture would be a SMALL APERTURE!.... being that it is dark and so there for giveing the player with the football more focuse and more depth, consintrating on him the subject of this picture.
- Position : I believe that to photographer was stand at the pretty close to the side lines near the touchdown of this foot ball players destination . the photoghraper abserved earler games and teckniques of and this Game was prepared for this shot...

Especially in the background with everyone in MOTION exept for the girl who seems to be more consentrateing on something more important like her school work. While everone else talking and not doing there work and is in action due to the bluryness of the photo!

the camera
The pin hole camera has a shutter just like the SLR , except that SLR is more advanced . the SLR has a delayed shutter realease an aperure setting ring foucusing ring and an iris diaphrame ... and the pinhole camera is less complicated. they both project a picture though the shutter that allows light to project a picture. The SLR camera controlls the light that goes through many passages before it makes a pic , it happens so fast that u are able to freez exactly perfect at that split secound. The pinhole u have to be more precise and carfule to get a good picture other wise the picture would come out to dark or to light.

tuesday photo-j likes and dislikes 09/12/07

I really enjoy this picture, because I love CROSSES... this picture has the holy crist in it and is really focused on the subject. This picture has a blur behind the subject witch to me i beleave give the photo, good character and make the cross stand out a little more. Like I said before the cross is deffinatly in focuse and the background is blurry . This photo is not warped it has lots of details and has fine definition. I would rate this picture a 4...
